In this article, the author discusses the origin of the Qur'anic word Furāt(Euphrates) and its transformation in some texts. In the author's opinion, the word fālād/fālāδ is another form of the word Furāt, derived from the infinitive form fārīdan. Although this word is very rarely used in Persian texts, it is still alive in the Persian language of Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
