The problem of interpretation of the Yezidi religious texts is determined with a number of specific factors, first of all, the transformation of the original meaning of the terms inherited by the tradition from Islam, and, in particular, from Sufism. The article discusses some features of the language of the Yezidi religious lore, qawl-ū-bayt, which must be taken into account when analysing and translating those texts.
